About the Artwork
Audre Lorde was a Black, queer poet and activist whose words exposed the emotional labor of resistance. Her writing demanded that women — especially those at intersecting margins — use their voices as tools of liberation. This design draws from her radical truth-telling and from the soft visual optimism of 1970s feminist poster art.
